Incident Hunger

Events make life eventful. They also cause us to remember them. It is so because the impact is at many levels - physical, emotional, social, existential and psychological levels. There is little possibility that we would forget them if the impact is at several of these levels. Some of them are:

  • Emotional hurt, pain, embarrassment, insult, isolation.
  • Forgetting actions, tasks, responsibilities and appointments.
  • Not remembering to appreciate, praise or thank someone.
  • Thrill of doing something dangerous.
  • Joy of doing some things in secret.
  • Making mistakes, suffering losses, taking risk, doing something to  remain on tenterhook, or doing something that results in physical or emotional hurt.
  • Engaging in quarrels and fights.
  • Participating in risky games, betting, climbing heights, skiing, aggressive driving, driving after drinking.
  • Games generate special types of incidents in the nature of payoffs.
  • Games also generate lockups at crossup which are in nature of incidents.
  • Rackets in the nature of speech, action and behaviour.
  • Practising stroke economy.
All these engagements mostly happen unawarely and unintentionally. They therefore constitute psychological hungers.

Aspiration Hunger

We have the desire, urge and drive to engage in activities. They make us task, objective or goal oriented. They push us from deep within us. Here are some of them:
