TA Script Theory 11
(Script is a self authored life plan written in early childhood. It governs the general course of a person's life. It is 'directed' to achieve a life goal or script payoff. )

Becoming Script-free - 2.4

In 1-8.8 the need to install a Permissive Parent and an Acquiescent Free Child were covered. In 1-8.9 Installing an Empowered Adult, Separating Person from Behaviour and Being Non-Expecting were covered and in 1-8.10 use of some other modes were presented. Now are considered three main methods:
  • Using the back door: This method is the most effective method. Awareness is the key. Recovering the capacity to say 'hello' to oneself and to others all the time works wonders. [Click this link about terms, concepts and ideas used here.Any and everything that affects us, be it a thing, animal or person; event, occurrence or happening; recalls of people and events; outcomes of games and racket engagements and many others; is a reality; thus is generated a reality situation. We need to use the reality principle for dealing with reality situations.  Reality Testing helps in doing so. Thus we gain social control. Acting in the moment without planning works. The objective is to end reality situations sanely, safely, effectively, and to the extent possible by creating a win-win in the process. It is not easy. It is not impossible either. Taking time to learn helps. There are many steps leading to empowerment on the way.
  • Do many things that amount to accounting. Failure is a stepping stone. I used the example of an infant growing up to be a playful child of seven years. There are easily seven to eight stages from an infant being able to lift its head to playing around without hesitation or fear at a child's age of seven years. Here are some of the areas that we need to deal with - confusion, indecision, dilemmas and struggle; thinking engagements over things past and things yet to happen; regurgitating* feelings, emotions, outcomes of past events and the like; incessant mind talk; engaging in fantasies and autistic* thinking; in matters of interactions, strokes, games and rackets; and other similar.
  • Going deep below within to dismantle the script. This is a process formulated by me. Every thought has an associated feeling. Every thought-feeling combine has a  related emotion. Every emotion has a somatic component. This the mind-body component of the script. The other part is psychic. Every somatic component has a related thought and feeling. This thought-feeling is related to script belief. It reflects in terms of I-You-It-Quality of Life- capacity for esteem-capacity for self responsibility. Here is an example to illustrate. I am driving. I find an auto driver driving his vehicle unconcerned about the traffic he is holding behind him. Thought in my mind . . . . cannot this person care to see in the rear view mirror! Associated feeling - anger. Associated emotion - distress. Associated somatic sensation - a little stiffness in the lower back. Associated thought - I am helpless. I am treated unfairly. Associated feeling - Sad. The process is thus completed to reach the triggers associated with the script belief. Now gaining awareness, recognising, remaining connected, accepting, becoming comfortable and saying it is OK is to be carried out bringing to mind successively the thought-feeling, somatic sensation, emotion, feeling and thought running the process laid down above [namely -  gaining awareness, recognising, remaining connected, accepting, becoming comfortable and saying it is OK]. Carry out this process three times. The intensity of the triggered scripty response reduces by up to 70%. Next time I run into such a situation I can shift from script-ridden-ness or script-prone-ness to script-free engagement in the event.  Eventually the ease of handing challenging people, situations, problems, difficulties and other triggering entities reduces substantially. For the first time I get to enjoy happiness without having reason to be happy. Engaging in hugging the spouse, mother or father if not committed, gives support to the system. By persistent practice over a year's period the mind becomes almost thought free, free of engagements, and free of stress. The triggering flame I mentioned in a previous blog gets puts off.
This brings me to the end of this section on Script Theory.
